This Is Amazing Grace

At this time, Passion 4 Guatemala is in the midst of raising funds for our scholarships for the 2021 school year. So many of you have helped us year after year meet our goal and no child has been denied a scholarship because of your generosity. We are so GRATEFUL!!

One of our students sent us a video that he made for a school project and I wanted to share it with you so you can see the impact you are making on these teenager’s lives. Without your support, William and the other students would not be in school. They would be working menial jobs with very little pay and have little hope for a more prosperous future.

William Aldana is one of the amazing teenagers that receives our education scholarship! 10 years ago when he was six years old his family moved to Hope of Life village. He lives with his mom, Lepa, his dad, Arnoldo, his brother Byron and his baby sister Sofia.

William loves to play the guitar and sing. He especially loves to use his talent to praise the Lord! He can play many instruments and loves teaching others. He is currently teaching one of our other students in the village how to play the keyboard. What is amazing is these teenagers have no sheet music. They listen to the song and try to find the key. It is truly amazing to watch.

William made the video below for a school project. He sings part of it in Spanish and part of it in English. He wanted us to share it with you all. It is a great example of the impact each of our donors are making on the children by giving them a hand up and allowing them to realize their God given purpose and talents. William is working hard to learn English because he knows he will have many more opportunities for a career when he is older.

William will be completing the 10th grade in October and he is studying to be an accountant. He loves to practice his English and loves to learn English praise and worship music!

William’s greatest desire is to point others to Jesus through the testimony of his life. He is an example to others of humility, gentleness, kindness, love and the joy of following Jesus!

He felt the call from God at church in the village when he was 10 years old and he went forward to receive grace and salvation from the Lord Jesus Christ! Since that day he has sought to know the Lord with all his heart and glorify him in all that he does. He is the worship leader in our church as well as the Co- President of our youth group and teaches children’s Sunday school class with some of our other youth. He loves to talk about Jesus and share the gospel with others!

Every child in the village has the opportunity to receive a scholarship so they can continue their education after completing the sixth grade. Education is free through the sixth grade but after that, the families must pay tuition for their children’s education. After 6th grade, many children don’t have the opportunity and end their education, leaving them with little hope for their future.

Passion 4 Guatemala saw this need for education for children just like William. Children that excelled academically and are dreaming of the opportunity to continue in school.

Education is the most powerful weapon which you can use to change the world.

This is an amazing opportunity for these children to help break the cycle of poverty in their families! Thirty-one students received scholarships for the 2020 school year and 6 of them will be graduating in October!

Thanks so much to all of you that donate to help students just like William have this opportunity! We know God has great plans for their lives!
